ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Lingkungan pendidikan merupakan lingkungan tempat berlangsungnya proses pendidikan yang merupakan bagian dari lingkungan sosial. Lingkungan pendidikan dibagi menjadi tiga yaitu:

2. Lingkungan sekolah
Karena perkembangan peradaban manusia, orang tidak mampu lagi untuk mendidik anaknya. Pada masyarakat yang semakin komplek, anak perlu persiapan khusus untuk mencapai masa dewasa. Persiapan ini perlu waktu, tempat dan proses yang khusus. Dengan demikian orang perlu lembaga tertentu untuk menggantikan sebagian fungsinya sebagai pendidik. Lembaga ini disebut sekolah.
Dasar tanggung jawab sekolah akan pendidikan meliputi:
- tanggung jawab formal kelembagaan
- tanggung jawab keilmuan
- tanggung jawab fungsional
3. Lingkungan masyarakat
Ada 5 pranata sosial (social institutions) yang terdapat di dalam lingkungan sosial yaitu:
- pranata pendidikan = bertugas dalam upaya sosialisasi
- pranata ekonomi = bertugas mengatur upaya pemenuhan kemakmuran
- pranata politik = bertugas menciptakan integritas dan stabilitas masyarakat
- pranata teknologi = bertugas menciptakan teknik untuk mempermudah manusia
- pranata moral dan etika = bertugas mengurusi nilai dan penyikapan dalam pergaulan masyarakat
HUBUNGAN SEKOLAH DENGAN MASYARAKAT
1. Hubungan transaksional antara sekolah dengan masyarakat
* Sekolah sebagai partner masyarakat dalam melakukan fungsi pendidikan.
* Sekolah sebagai produsen yang melayani pesanan-pesanan pendidikan dari masyarakat.
Caranya:
- aktivitas kurikuler para siswa (mengumpulkan bahan pengajaran dari masyarakat, kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat, magang, dsb)
- aktivitas para guru (kunjungan ke rumah siswa, dll)
- kegiatan ekstrakurikuler (melakukan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dengan melibatkan masyarakat)
- kunjungan orangtua/anggota masyarakat ke sekolah (saat kenaikan kelas, ultah sekolah, dsb)
- melalui media massa (publikasi mengenai kegiatan sekolah lewat televisi, dsb)
2. Hubungan transmisif dan transformasif
Hubungan transmisif terjadi manakala sekolah berperan sebagai pewarisan kebudayaan. Hubungan transformasif terjadi manakala sekolah berperan sebagai agen pembaharu dalam kebudayaan masyarakat.
Caranya:
- Reproduksi budaya: Siswa diajarkan untuk menggali unsur-unsur budaya yang telah ada dalam masyarakatnya.
- Difusi kebudayaan : Siswa diajarkan agar dapat menyebarluaskan unsur-unsur yang dinilai positif dan belum berkembang dalam masyarakatnya.
- Berpikir kreatif : Berpikir alternatif, berani “tampil beda”.
